Recently, the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and the China Nonferrous Metals Society announced the "Notice on the 2024 China Nonferrous Metals Industry Science and Technology Award", which is the technical achievement of "Aviation Grade sponge Titanium Intelligent Manufacturing Industrialization" by Yunnan National Titanium and Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Longbai Group. Won the first prize of the 2024 "Non-Ferrous Metal Industry Science and Technology Award".

Aviation grade titanium sponge belongs to the high-end products of titanium sponge, with low oxygen, low nitrogen, low carbon, low density, zero defects and other characteristics. The "Intelligent Manufacturing Industrialization of Aero-grade titanium sponge" project is to establish intelligent monitoring, feedback and adjustment quality control methods for core processes such as chlorination, magnesium reduction-distillation, and titanium block shear crushing through technological transformation and new construction of rotor grade titanium sponge intelligent manufacturing production lines, and achieve efficient production of aero-grade titanium sponge.
